The "scubahut", starting point for diving at the house reef, trial dives, and instruction, is located right on the beach with direct access to the gangplank across the reef to the bathing platform.

Registration office, classrooms, filling station, workshop, and sanitary installations are all located at a side wing of the hotel.

Equipment available: 100 aluminum tanks 12 l with DIN/INT valves, 50 sets complete equipment, Scubapro live vests, MK II / R 190 regulators, Bora-Bora 5mm Neopren suits, diving computer and UW lights.

Ras Gamila, the house reef, begins at the south of Ras Nasrani and ends at the lighthouse, entry to the Tiran Strait. There are schools of snappers, baracudas as well as the ever present house turtle to be observed at every dive. Some mantas can be seen, especially during the summer months. And with some luck you may encounter a whale shark.

Due to the water current condition of the Tiran Strait very spectacular hard coral formations have evolved. The reef falls off gradually from shallow water to a depth of about 10 – 15 meters sandy bottom (ideal for beginners) to a maximum depth of 30 – 40 meters.

Of course, there also dives off boats. Excursions go to the reefs in the Tiran Stait, Ras Mohamed or to the wreck of the “Thistlegorm” in the Gulf of Suez.

Guests meet at the main building of the dive base at about 08:00 a.m., and then go by minibus to the harbor (abt. 25 minutes drive). Spacious day boats take them to the various dive sites, which are about 1 1 ½ hours away. As the boat ride to the “Thistlegorm” takes about 3 ½ hours, this tour starts at 05:00 a.m. already.

Depending on the season we offer 2 – 3 dives a day, and guests return to the center at about 07:00 p.m.
