What is new at the next Boot Show in Düsseldorf?

Numerous interesting and exciting new features and changes are being introduced at the next boot Düsseldorf from 18 to 26 January 2020. The biggest water sports trade fair in the world will be taking place with a new layout, providing visitors with an attractive routing system and direct access to the topics that appeal to them and everything that is associated with these topics.

Diving and trend sports are the most popular activities at boot Düsseldorf. This concept will be extended by new attractions in 2020. In the diving halls 11 and 12 the “Dive Center”, the “love your ocean” activities stand with the well-known marine activist and boot Düsseldorf ambassador Emily Penn as well as the popular “Water Pixel World” will form an exciting world of experience and information about seas and waters.

Moreover, the “ocean tribute” award will be presented by Prince Albert II Foundation, the German Marine Foundation and boot Düsseldorf for the third time in 2020. The application phase for the international marine conservation prize runs until 31 July.
With almost 250,000 visitors, boot Düsseldorf is the world’s largest boat and water sports fair and every year in January the “meeting place” for the entire industry. From 18 to 26 January 2020, around 2,000 exhibitors will present their interesting new products, attractive further developments and maritime equipment. This means that the complete market will be on site in Düsseldorf and will be inviting visitors on nine days of the fair to an exciting journey through the entire world of water sports in 17 exhibition halls covering 220,000 square meters. With a focus on boats and yachts, engine technology, equipment and accessories, services, diving, surfing, maritime art, marinas, water sports facilities as well as beach resorts and charter, there is something for every water sports enthusiast.

New National Park daily fees

Dear clients, colleagues and friends

As divers and underwater ambassadors, any change towards a positive impact on the environment is one we can all agree on supporting.

Therefore kindly be informed that as of 27th November 2019, as per a recent decree issued by the Ministry of Environment, new National Park daily fees will be applicable to diving operations and divers performing scuba diving and snorkeling activities in dive/snorkeling sites located in the following areas:

  • Ras Mohammed National Park – Euro 7.00 per person
  • Straits of Tiran – Euro 7.00 per person
  • Blue Hole & Canyon in Dahab – Euro 13.00 per person

Applicable fees will be payable upon check out.

The new fees will be nurturing the funding of the National Park Authority and support its recently enhanced efforts aimed at protecting, maintaining, and monitoring the health of our beloved Red Sea, both on land and underwater.

The Ministry of Environment currently has the intention to charge the 7.00 Euro per person fee also for activities in diving/snorkeling areas located in proximity of Sharm El Sheikh coastline (i.e. “local dive/snorkeling sites”).

For the time being, the new fees will only be applicable to the above mentioned areas of Ras Mohammed N.P., the Straits of Tiran and Dahab.

Please note that CDWS is lobbying the relevant governmental bodies in order to prevent the payment of any fee for activities performed in “local” sites. Further updates in these regards will follow as soon as they will be available.

As responsible divers we greatly welcome this move and strongly believe in the implementation of environmental based restrictions, aimed at reducing the diving/snorkeling tourism impact on our lucky area of the world.
